Ivan Tzankov is the new Managing Director of AES Bulgaria

Ivan Tzankov joined the AES Bulgaria team in 2006. In 2007 he was appointed as Chief Financial Officer and in 2013 became Commercial Director of the company. He has solid financial and leadership experience from Petrol AD, where he was chief accountant, Deputy Executive Director and a Member of the Management Board, as well as the leading consultancy companies Arthur Andersen and Deloitte.

Ivan Tzankov graduated in Finance and Accounting at the University of National and World Economy, specializing at the Darden School of Business, University of Virginia, USA. He is a full member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants in the UK (ACCA).

AES is constantly thriving to improve the efficiency of its organization and capture synergies to improve its competitive position in the market. It is currently implementing the merger of its Europe and Asia Strategic Business Units (SBU) into the combined EurAsia SBU.

Business photo Olivier MarquetteThe former Managing Director Olivier Marquette will oversee the AES businesses in Bulgaria and assume the position of President of AES Bulgaria. In addition, he will assume the position of Head of Business Development at the newly created EurAsia SBU, bringing together AES businesses across Europe and Asia. He will be responsible for creating and implementing AES’ long-term growth strategy in these markets, improving the company’s market position and identifying future business opportunities. Prior to joining AES Bulgaria in 2015, Olivier Marquette was Business Development Vice President of AES Dominican Republic, AES Business Development Manager in the US, Business Development Director of AES Singapore and Vice President Business Development of AES Brazil. His career in the energy sector began in 1995 with the French company Electricité de France, where he worked for 9 years before joining AES.
