

On the occasion of the first day of school, AES’ TPP in Galabovo delighted all of the first graders in Galabovo and the village of Obruchishte. For the fifteenth consecutive year, the most modern coal-fired power plant in Bulgaria gave school backpacks filled with resources and materials to every child in the Municipality of Galabovo who entered a school for the first time. 93 first-graders from the primary schools ‘St. Paisii Hilendarski’, ‘Hristo Botev’, ‘Vasil Levski’ secondary school, and ‘Sv. AES Bulgaria which operates the country's most advanced coal-fired power plant, AES’ TPP in Galabovo, and the country's largest wind farm, St. Nikola, was distinguished as Best Employer for 2023. The prestigious certificate is given by ARS Bulgaria after conducting a thorough and objective survey among the employees of AES Bulgaria.

For another year, AES Bulgaria has received recognition and has been distinguished for its high safety standards. British Safety Council awarded the company the International Safety Award Merit for 2022. These are the most outstanding awards regarding safety and health in the workplace.

AES Maritza East 1 Services received the Safety and Health at Work Award given by the Center for Safety and Health at Work Foundation. The competition was organized by the foundation for the 13th time and was held with the support of the General Labor Inspectorate Executive Agency.

In February, St. Nikola Wind Farm marked a record month in terms of output. Last month, AES Bulgaria’s wind farm provided 46 472 MWh of green energy to Bulgarian consumers. This has been its highest February output since its commissioning in 2010. Last month, St. Nikola Wind Farm generated 33% more energy Y/Y.

For the 15th consecutive year, AES Bulgaria organized in Galabovo a student competition for skillfully made traditional martenitzas. Almost 400 children from schools in the Galabovo Municipality took part in the art competition dedicated to Baba Marta.

The largest wind farm in Bulgaria provided an amount of green energy that can satisfy the annual consumption of 100 000 Bulgarian households. In this way, the wind park works consistently for the greener energy future of Bulgaria
