AES’ TPP in Galabovo records highest annual output in three years

In 2025, AES’ TPP in Galabovo achieved its highest electricity generation level in the past three years. Over the last 12 months, the two units of the power plant, which is the most advanced coal-fired power plant in Bulgaria, produced 2,618,000 MWh, representing 7% of the country’s total electricity consumption. 

In December alone, electricity generated by AES’ TPP in Galabovo for Bulgarian consumers reached 256,000 MWh, once again covering 7% of national electricity demand for the month.

During 2025, the St. Nikola wind farm, owned by AES Bulgaria, supplied 284,369 MWh of clean electricity. In December, output from the country’s largest wind farm totaled 36,081 MWh.
