Children visited the workplace of their parents in the AES office in Sofia

The company joined the initiative “I am proud of my parents work” for the second time 

Sofia, November 2, 2015 – For the second consecutive year AES opened its office doors to meet the children of employees at their work places within the initiative “I am proud of my parents work.”

 

The young guests were eager see how the working day passes for Mom and Dad, what the working places look like, what kind of materials and equipment they use and, of course, to meet personally the company’s Managing Director Olivier Marquette. The children watched a themed cartoons for the generation, transmission and distribution of electricity and safety when using electrical appliances.

 

In 2014, AES welcomed nearly 60 children who visited TPP “AES Galabovo” and Waste Disposal Facility, and learned what kind of skills and professions are needed to operate the complex equipment.

 

This year, 21 companies across the country participated in the initiative for the revival of labor as a value “I am proud of of my parents work.” The idea is to tailor programs and games which show them why the work of their parents is important. The initiative is driven by the Bulgarian network of the United Nations Global Compact, the aim is to be organized annualy and cover businesses across the country. This fall, more than 600 children from 19 cities saw how the working day of their parents passes.
