149 kids received warm jackets and boots within the Angels’ Tree Initiative

For the 11th consecutive year, on the eve of the Christmas holidays, AES Bulgaria’s employees made happy children from low-income families in Galabovo Municipality by offering them warm clothes and shoes. The initiative known as Angels’ Tree is voluntary and is supported by donations of the company’s employees and funds of AES Bulgaria. This year our gifts made 149 children from Galabovo happy.

Angels’ Tree is aimed at supporting children from low-income families by providing them with winter jackets and boots. The municipality of Galabovo collects data for children in need within the 1st – 7th grade age group, and after consulting with their teachers, determines the needs of each kid.

Due to the measures imposed to due to the COVID-19 pandemic, in 2020 the presents were given at the children’s homes to avoid their gathering at one place.

‘Supporting the communities where we operate is among the main priorities of the CSR program of AES Bulgaria. I am happy that in 2020 we managed to provide a warmer Christmas for the children of Galabovo’, Olivier Marquette, President of AES Bulgaria said.

From the beginning of its operations AES Bulgaria has dedicated more than BGN 15 million to CSR program projects. The funds have been allocated to different programs and projects focusing on three main areas: education, healthcare, and infrastructure.
