For the 15th consecutive year, AES Bulgaria organized in Galabovo a student competition for skillfully made traditional martenitzas. Almost 400 children from schools in the Galabovo Municipality took part in the art competition dedicated to Baba Marta.

Students from 1st to 4th grade of the schools ‘Vasil Levski’, ‘St. Paisii Hilendarski, ‘Hristo Botev’ in Galabovo and ‘St. Kiril and Metodii’ in the village of Obruchishte participated in the competition. As usual, AES Bulgaria provided all participants with the necessary materials – wool, beads, and other accessories for decorating the martenitzas. For yet another year, the children’s talent and imagination made it difficult for the jury to choose. The winner is the martenitza made by the kids of 4th B grade of Primary School ‘Hristo Botev’. Each school participating in the competition received a camera. And since one can’t have a party without treats, all children received snacks to reward their creativity, dedication, and hard work.

For the 15 years of this contest, around 5800 children from the schools of Galabovo have participated in the competition for Baba Marta. The creative initiative is part of the CSR program of AES Bulgaria and is aimed at preserving Bulgarian traditions and customs and promoting the development of children’s talent.
